Left atrial reservoir function measured by peak longitudinal strain was similar in young adults born very preterm or with extremely low birthweight (PB/ELBW) and controls. Mean left atrial reservoir strain was 38.1% (95% confidence interval (CI) 35.7, 40.5) in PB/ELBW and 39.7% (95% CI 37.4, 42.1) in controls (p = 0.3)
