Hyperuricemia is associated with abdominal aortic diameter expansion. Hyperuricemia increases the rate of abdominal aortic diameter expansion. Patients with serum uric acid levels ≥ 9 mg/dl have more rapid abdominal aortic diameter expansion rates than patients with serum uric acid levels between 4 and 7.9 mg/dl. The upper and lower whiskers show the maximal and minimal values, respectively, and the upper, middle and lower horizontal lines in the box represent the upper, middle and lower quartiles, respectively. *P < 0.05
