Hyperuricemia is associated with abdominal aortic diameter expansion. Hyperuricemia increases the rate of abdominal aortic diameter expansion. Patients with serum uric acid levels ≥ 9 mg/dl have more rapid abdominal aortic diameter expansion rates than patients with serum uric acid levels between 4 and 7.9 mg/dl.
