In each chart, three models are presented: adjusting for age and gender (blue line), adjusting for the predicted 10-year risk of coronary heart disease by the Framingham risk score (orange) and adjusting for age, gender and systolic blood pressure (green). The dotted lines represent 95% confidence intervals of estimates. P values are for linear trend and were estimated by running the same models with the number of features of the metabolic syndrome as a continuous variable.
