RPA results of apoptosis-related factors A representative of RPA results is shown in panel A with multiple probes of apoptosis related cytokines. The RPA showed that relative mRNA levels of Bcl-xS were initially decreased at 1 day, 3 days and 1 week followed by returning to base line level after 2W (B). There was an increase in caspase-3 and Bax mRNA levels at 4w. Data are expressed as density ratio of TGF-beta over GAPDH from three separate experiments. Western blotting analysis showed a similar trend (C) to the mRNA levels for Bcl-xS but statistical analysis did not reach significance. * P < 0.001 compared to controls.
