The microstructure of the intestine specimens from each experimental group was observed by HE staining (A), transmission electron microscopy (B), and electron microscopy (C). The integrity of the intestinal mucosal epithelial cell structure, swelling of the mitochondria, mitochondrial crest, and cytoplasm within the rough endoplasmic reticulum structure were analyzed. Group I (15–20 °C), group II (20–25 °C), group III (25–30 °C), group IV (normal CPB group), and group V (sham operation group). The data are expressed as the mean ± SD from three independent experiments. A, C scale bar is 50 μm, resolution is 300 dpi; B scale bar is 500 nm, resolution is 1307 dpi. No downstream processing was performed in the images
