Invasive hemodynamic parameters during V-A ECMO. Animals were ventilated with inspiratory oxygen fraction of 0.5 (group A), 0.21 (group B) or 0 (group C). Values were recorded every 7.5 min until the end of the experiment. The cardiac output (A) stroke volume (B) and ejection fraction (C) were significantly reduced during anoxic ventilation. Results are presented as median with interquartile range. Asterisks, rhombus and crosses display the degree of statistical significance: A vs. C: *p < 0.05; **p < 0.01; ***p < 0.001; B vs. C: #p < 0.05; ##p < 0.01; ###p < 0.001; A vs B: +p < 0.05.
