Endomyocardial biopsy. The endomyocardial biopsy revealed cardiomyocyte hypertrophy with vacuolar degeneration (green triangle in 6A), and aberrantly oriented myocytes (a, d). Interstitial fibrosis (asterisk in d), abnormal small vessels with thickened walls (black triangle in b), and focal fibrous scar formation (asterisk in c) were also observed. (a) and (b) are HE stained with tenfold magnification. (c) and (d) show Masson's trichrome staining at fivefold and tenfold magnifications, respectively. Biopsy images were acquired using a ZEISS Axioskop 40 Microscope and Zeiss ZEN acquisition software at a 2752 × 2208 resolution. Final image adjustments were done with Adobe Photoshop 22.0 software to produce a final size of 1200*963 pixels
